  • School Group Programs

Designed with state educational standards in mind, Delaware State Parks school programs offer students aged preschool to high school the opportunity to discover hands-on experiences that compliment classroom learning. Plan a field trip to a Delaware State Park or invite park interpreters to you for in-school programs throughout the year that can be tailored for schoolwide assemblies or small classrooms. Satisfy state standards in science, history, and mathematics while bringing your lessons to life

  • R.E.E.C.H. Program

Cape Henlopen State Park has been operating the REECH program since 1998, and the Nature Center has been running school programs since the 1970’s. The current REECH program focuses on hands-on investigation of our coastal ecosystem over a 2-day, 1-night session, with courses designed to meet the state standards.

REECH programs take place in April.

  • Youth Conservation Corps

The Delaware State Parks Youth Conservation Corps (DSPYCC) program provides high quality summer jobs and environmental opportunities for young people aged 16-21 (select teams 14-16) for members and 20-26 for leaders. Corps members conduct meaningful environmentally and park focused activities as a means of achieving personal growth. Through your service, you will gain skills, confidence, and see first-hand the benefit your hard work makes in providing a lasting benefit for public lands and communities. The DSPYCC is committed to engaging young people in important conservation and park projects while providing learning that fosters teamwork, self-esteem, social responsibility and respect for the environment.

  • Work-Based Learning

Delaware State Parks is now offering T.R.E.C. Work-Based Learning opportunities throughout the school year.

Interested high school students or classes can sign up for as many sessions as best fits for the experience they are seeking. Sessions are offered statewide and time slots are flexible to meet school schedules.

We are happy to work with students to meet requirements to earn course credit from their school and are always looking for new schools to partner with us.

2 hour sessions for individual and small groups of students are available 5 days a week. Flexible field trip options are available upon request for classes with aligned pathways and/or interest in “trying out” our Work-Based Learning programs.
